Dear Human Ranch AIR is a creative space for artists, guests and friends to play with possibilities and materialize ideas. It is also an invitation to explore the ecosystem of the local meadows, forests and surrounding mountains.

We welcome emerging and established artists from all disciplines to develop their projects on the ranch. Residents here can be focused on research and/or production as they so choose. All residencies are self-catered and self- directed.

The Ranch gives you the chance to absorb both the natural environment and a creative atmosphere in perfect balance, to be rejuvenated and inspired without the distraction and pressures of daily life.

We are located between three mountains, each beautiful in its own way. Hikes are just on our doorstep, and in just 15-30 minutes drive in any direction there are lakes, good restaurants and many well-known local attractions.

The artists in residence will have sole use of the cabin with adjoining yard and the studio. The availability depend on the time of arrival and whether you are coming on your own or in a group .

If you have interest in creating a thematic group residency, this can be considered and options can be found for accommodation.

We are also open to discussing the possibility of developing events such as exhibitions, collaborative projects, workshops or lectures. We can provide technical assistance, project discussion, and facilitate the connection for artists to find the resources needed.

Depending on the time of the year, the ranch is more or less busy with artist, friends and guests–Summer months are busiest and loveliest. During this period the studio might be shared with other artists but working outside is a possibility.

Our outdoor space is diverse, with a garden, small river for dipping and a wooded area. We are a few minutes away from forest hikes and meadows where foraging medicinal plants and mushrooms are at our fingertips.

Artists and guests will stay at the cabin and can work indoors at the studio or outdoors if weather permits.
The cabin has a living room, kitchen and a bathroom on the lower level and 2 ½ small rooms on the upper. One room has a double bed and another has a single bed. Additionally, there is a small open space that can be used as a writing/drawing room.

The studio is about 30m2, equipped with a brand new kiln (low fire), wood stove for heating in the winter, and a CNC machine for wood and other projects. It also has the most picturesque view on to the neighbouring hill.

We provide bed sheets, towels, toiletries, and cleaning of the room every two weeks.

Rates include accommodation and the studio access per one week / six nights. We welcome enquiries for longer-term residencies, as well as group suggestions.

One week 385 euro single / double 585 euros
Meals, materials and transport are not included but can be arranged.

While the cabin is private, the studio and the ranch areas are shared with us, other guests and our animals.

We are around to support you, provide you with tools for organizing your residency and help if needed.
